Sonoran Blue & chrysalids
This beautiful Lycaenid is found in Southern California. I reared these on stonecrop (Dudleya spp.) by placing live females in a cage with the potted plant. Adult females can be found in Feb.-April. They will oviposit readily. The larvae burrow under the skin of the plants. They pupate under ground litter at the base of the hostplant. Pupae overwinter and emerge the following spring.
